5 to 2 WOG (WALK/JOG)

INSTRUCTIONS: Walk for 1-2 minutes then jog for 5 minutes. Perform this rotation 4 times.

TIP: Jog easy enough to be able to smile and mean it!  This keeps you in a true aerobic zone.  Most runners run way to hard most of the time.

CHALLENGE: Decrease the walk duration to 30 seconds.

Rich Wills is a long-time runner, triathlete & owner of FITniche, a running & active lifestyle store that specializes in fitness shoes, apparel and accessories. Duane "Driz" Drisdom, a CFT, is the owner of  Dynamic Dimensions, a one-on-one personal training studio, and Dynamic 24, Lakeland's first 24 hour fitness center. "Driz" also trains athletes on all levels and has worked as a body guard for numerous celeberities.

WORKOUT PHILOSOPHY

  • These workouts are designed to help you get fit and stay active for life. They won't help you set records or peak for specific events, but they will provide you with the activity you need to be healthy and fit for life.  
  • These daily workouts should provide you with strength, endurance, agility, balance and flexibility.  You should find the workouts simple, adventurous, constantly changing, challenging, and most importantly fun!

WORKOUT RULES

  1. You must have a doctor's OK to perform strength and cardio workouts.
  2. You may break up the workouts over the course of the entire day, if needed. If the workout calls for 50 pushups, for example, and you have to do five at a time and it takes all day to get to 50, that's fine--as long as you finish all 50 pushups before you go to bed!
  3. Workouts can be modified to fit your level of fitness by adjusting the underlined numbers by 10%-50%.  Each week or two thereafter, add approximately 10% back in until you're completing 100% of every workout.  Do not increase the underlined numbers by more than 10% each week!
  4. Don't try to make up for missed workouts.
  5. Do the workouts with others if possible.
  6. Seek grace and ease of movement in every activity.
  7. Have fun and enjoy the daily adventure!
